I am an author, musician, & artist who lives in Washington, D.C.

My new book, "Fifty Years of the Concept Album in Popular Music: From the Beatles to Beyoncé," is the first major history of the concept album ever written. It will be released February 8, 2024 on Bloomsbury Books.

It was preceded by my volume in the 33 1/3 series, "From Elvis In Memphis," which Greil Marcus hailed as "[A] fine piece of work that opens up the album in new ways."

I've appeared in The Boston Globe for my art, The New York Times for my music, & published two books on rock & roll music.

Oh, & I once helped Bruce Springsteen with the architecture books.
